Grid Alert Victoria is an experimental decision-support tool. It brings together weather forecasts, fire danger information and live outage data to support situational awareness during major events in Victoria. It is not an authoritative source and should not be relied on as a source of truth.
Information may be incomplete, delayed or wrong:
- Outage data is read from each distributor's public outage tracker. These are unofficial feeds that can change, lag or fail without notice.
- Weather is modelled forecast data (Open-Meteo), not observations or official warnings.
- Fire danger, Total Fire Ban and Fire Danger Period details come from CFA web pages and may not reflect the latest declarations.
- Automated callouts come from simple rules and may miss risks or overstate them.
Always confirm with official sources before acting. These include your organisation's operational systems, Bureau of Meteorology warnings, and CFA / VicEmergency. Do not use this tool on its own for safety-critical or switching decisions.
This tool is independent. It is not an official product of, or endorsed by, AusNet, Powercor, CitiPower, Jemena, United Energy, the Bureau of Meteorology or CFA. In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000).
